Day 5

Our last day in London 🙁 The kids waved goodbye to their host families then we set off to explore the darker side of the city. In the morning we had a guided tour through Whitechapel tracing the footsteps of the infamous murderer « Jack the Ripper ». We ate fish and chips in a pub by the Thames and finished our day with a scary tour of « The London Dungeons » 😮 Our super driver Patrick then drove us to Poole to catch the ferry. What a brilliant trip !

Day 4

Our day began with a quick stop outside Buckingham Palace. Unfortunately the Queen was not in. We then walked through St. James’s Park to Trafalgar Square and into the National Gallery. We admired many famous paintings by Turner, Van Gogh, Monet, Manet…… we ate our lunch in Covent Garden and after that it was off to the Novello Theatre to see the brilliant musical « Mamma Mia ». We then finished the day with a bit of food shopping in Sainsburys.

Day 3

Another fun day….we spent the morning at Madame Tussauds London spotting celebrities of all kinds. We took millions of selfies rubbing shoulders with the stars and royalty. We ate our picnic in Hyde Park next to Marble Arch and the let the kids run free in Oxford Street.

Day 2

This morning was dedicated to the arts, from 16th century (Globe Theatre) to modern day (Tate Modern Art Gallery). In the afternoon we visited the British Museum and enjoyed ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome. The kids had lots of fun « acting » scenes from Romeo and Juliet.

Day 1

Fantastic crossing followed by an equally fantastic day in London. The kids really enjoyed the beautiful landmarks in the sun, as you see in the pictures. Everyone is comfortably installed with their host families and ready for a good night’s sleep.
